The Fashion Trends For Summer 2020/2021!
So far, 2020 has been an extremely weird and eventful year.
However, as the weather transitions out of Winter and into the warmer seasons, I think we’re all hoping things will be ‘back to normal’ by the time Summer rolls around.
What’s great about living in Australia for me, is that we get to see what’s trending around the world before Summer even starts! It gives us a great idea of what everyones wearing, and how to wear that in our everyday lives.
After the year we’ve had so far, I think a lot of us are sick and tired of our old wardrobe and are ready for an upgrade!
So get ready to update your wardrobe with these super cool Summer 2020-2021 fashion trends! Hope you enjoy!
What Colours Are In Fashion?:
This year, there have been a bunch of gorgeous colours to embrace for Summer fashion 2020/2021!
Some of the most popular are pastels, including lilac, baby yellow, tan, light blue and cream, as well as shades of brown and the iconic black and white.
Although, these aren’t just popular in Summer. They’re great all year round!
Puff Sleeves:
It’s 2020, and we’re officially on the puff sleeve trend! This 80’s inspired look creates a beautiful Victorian silhouette and works great with any style of top!
Though this look has been around quite a bit over the last year, there's no sign of it stopping anytime soon!
Wear this comfortable style anywhere and anytime to transform any basic tee from typical to incredible!
Sweat Shorts:
Back in quarantine, sweatpants were my go-to. However, with summer quickly approaching, I decided to hop on the new trend of sweat shorts!
In complete honesty, these are now one of my favourite things to wear! Sweat shorts are just as warm and comfy as sweatpants, just without the excess heat.
You can wear them when running your errands or when you’re sitting on the couch binging Netflix!
Bralettes:
Over the last year, wearing bralettes has been a drive for fashion!
Whether you wear these bralettes with a blouse, blazer or jacket, or even on their own in a pair of shorts or pants, they always look stunning!
They are a great way to express yourself in 2020 and 2021 and deserve to be worn by teens of any shape or size!
Midi Skirts:
Midi skirts are skirts which are usually below knee to mid calf length. They are often high waisted and perfect for a summer look!
Whether you wear it formally with heels and a tight top, or casually with a bag, leather jacket and sneakers, they look incredible!
Baby Doll Mini Dresses:
The baby doll dress is a gorgeous, voluminous mini dress that can be worn in any occasion and is perfect for summer!
Alongside their puff sleeves and loose-fitting silhouette, they create the perfect casual look to be worn with any style of shoes, cover-up or accessories.
Shorts Galore!:
Any and all shorts are trending in 2020! Trouser shorts, bike shorts, denim shorts, baggy shorts, retro shorts and beach shorts are all in this Summer 2020/2021!
There are so many fabrics, patterns, colours and styles to choose from, how can you go wrong?!
Maxi Dresses:
Despite what you may have thought, Yes! Maxi dresses are back for Summer 2020/2021!
Though they are longer than mini dresses, these maxi-dresses are gorgeous and extremely flattering! They are perfect to wear at any occasion; casually to the shops or the beach, or formally to dinner or a fun night out!
Style this dress with a leather jacket or blazer to create a beautiful casual look!
Mini Skirts:
Mini skirts are still in! Any and all styles of mini skirts are a great way to switch things up during summer!
Wear any colours, shapes, fabrics or patterns and express your favourite styles! You can go basic with a white shirt, or wear them with tank tops, blazers, turtlenecks or graphic tees! Go wild!
Bucket Hats:
Bucket hats have been in fashion for a while now, and don’t seem to be leaving anytime soon.
With so many new styles and designs of bucket hats coming out, there are so many options to add to your collection!
Make sure to accessorize any casual summer look with a bucket hat to receive the benefits of both the look and coverage from the sun! This hat is perfect for a cool summer fashion look
Neon:
Though neon colours are too bright to wear out everyday, these shades of colours are super bright and never go unnoticed!
This year, neons have really popped, not only on the runways, but on the streets as well! Wearing shades of pink, green, yellow and orange that practically glow in the dark will help you stand out in Summer 2020/21!
Linen:
Though linen fabric has always been a go-to during summer, this season has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of new variations of linen and linen-mixed garments.
Due to its lightweight fabric that keeps you cool during hot days, it is perfect for Summer as a cover up at the beach, a dress, skirt or button-up!
