This makes you think; there MUST be other ways to be more productive!

After the year of quarantining and working/schooling from home in 2020, working without distraction has not only become harder, but time seems to fly faster!

So, without further ado, here are β€˜16 Ways For You To Become More Productive!’

If you want to read about MORE other ways for YOU to be more productive and manage your time better…

Hope you enjoy!

COMPLETE AN EFFICIENT MORNING ROUTINE

Since your morning routine or first actions after waking up ultimately begin your day on a good or bad note, make sure you follow a strict, efficient and early morning routine to ensure you are happy, positive and motivated to start your productive day!

CUT YOUR TO-DO LIST

While keeping busy is good for productivity; sometimes a long to-do list can become overwhelming and stressful. Cutting out unnecessary or quick tasks from your to do lists makes it easier for you to focus on what really matters.

SET INTENTIONS

Setting intentions before each activity you complete is extremely important to help you complete the amount of work you aim to finish. If you set your intentions to complete 2 pages of writing, your subconscious mind does not stop until that goal is reached.

LEARN TO SAY β€œNO”

With so little time in the day and so much to do, there isn’t always enough time for everything. While it is key to find a balance between work and relaxation, sometimes you must say no to fun or exciting activities and/or opportunities.

STICK TO A SINGLE ORGANISATION DIARY

This is something that I have struggled with over the past few years; keeping focus of my to-do list and activities with to many diaries, journals and calendars. With so much information to remember each day, finding it in 2 or more different places makes it much harder to focus. I recommend keeping no more than a wall planner/calendar and a day to day diary, with 1 page for each day of the year!

PRIORITISE SELF-CARE

It’s simple! Eat well, sleep deeply and drink water excessively! Living a happy and healthy lifestyle is key to a productive life! Without enough food, water or sleep, your productivity will never be at its highest! So take a quick bread, eat some veggies and take a damn nap!

COMPLETE TASKS IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE

Like mentioned before, completing tasks in order of importance and urgency is the best way to be productive. When we choose what we complete in what order, we subconsciously leave what we most dread for last. However, by ordering all the tasks on your list, you tell yourself that you cannot move onto the next task without finishing the one you are currently on.

KNOW WHEN TO ASK FOR HELP

Despite what many will tell you, there is no shame in asking for help especially when you need it! Asking for help does not only give you someone to talk to during tough or stressful times, but it gives you an opportunity to improve and grow! By asking the right people, you can learn about what you’re doing wrong, and make it right using your full potential!

SLEEP

I feel like I write this in almost every blog post, but I cannot push this enough. YOU NEED SLEEP! To make sure you receive at least 8-9 hours of sleep each night, you need to choose whether you want to be an early bird or a night owl. You cannot be both! Choose one, and create your schedule surrounding that!

DRINK MORE WATER

While this doesn’t directly link to productivity, staying hydrated is extremely important to keeping a clear mind whilst working. Dehydration is not only unhealthy and bad for your health, but it fogs your mind, making it harder to focus and get work done.

REWARD YOURSELF

With so many places to be and so many things to do, it is natural to feel burnt out and tired after a while. Rewarding yourself; not only with sleep, food or water, it necessary to keep your spark burning and your optimism high. So just remember, you  and your health and happiness always come first!

TAKE MORE BREAKS

When studying for long amounts of time, our brain tends to lose focus as we lose interest. To ensure we study or work for a healthy length of time and vividly remember the details of the content, try not to study for more than 25-30 minutes at a time. Taking 5 minute breaks between each chunk. This is called the pomodoro technique!

KEEP A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

The more mess, the more stress! A messy environment does not only fill up your time with unnecessary cleaning, but it also fills your schedule with unnecessary stress and procrastination! Take the time now to clean your house and workspace to set yourself up for a clean, calm and productive environment!

COMPLETE DIFFICULT TASKS BEFORE LUNCH

Now, while many people feel fatigued and foggy during the early morning hours, they often prove to be the best time to complete hard, annoying everyday tasks! It’s annoying, I know! But your motivation is at its peak for the day when you wake up, making it the perfect time to complete tasks you otherwise wouldn’t complete fondly.

AVOID DISTRACTIONS

Distractions are hands down the biggest downfall for anyone trying to get a lot done in little time. Whether your biggest distraction is your phone, the TV or social interaction, it is super important that, during work or studying, to completely shut any and all distractions out.

STOP MULTITASKING!

Multitasking is one of the worst habits you can have while studying or working on assignments. It’s the sacrifice all successful people make when making the leap from small instinctive tasks, to big picture dreams and goals. It is super important to focus on the task at hand and put all your effort into it to ensure maximum productivity!

And there you have it!
